“Hotel”, “we” and “company” means Hôtel & Restaurant Frenchie, Gedempte Oude Gracht 46 Haarlem, 2011GS, The Netherlands.
“Booking” means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services or items made with us.
“Contract” means the booking and these terms, and any other terms and conditions stated to apply to the booking.
“Terms” means these terms and conditions.
“Websites” means or any other website owned or operated by us relating to a hotel from time to time.
“VAT” means value-added tax.
These terms and conditions are between you (the guest) and Hotel Frenchie and apply to all bookings of hotel rooms and public spaces in the property. These terms and conditions and any bookings made under them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Dutch Law. The terms and conditions are possibly changed during the moment of booking and your stay with us.
When booking or at the check-in, Hotel Frenchie will ask for your Credit Card details. Through these details, you authorize us to utilize the card for any expenses that become owing to us. Furthermore, Hotel Frenchie has the right to take full payment in advance as well as a deposit of 300,- EURO when you book in certain circumstances or when the booking includes any items or services. No booking is confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph are provided to us.
Furthermore, you agree that reservations are made for the number of people paid for and thus you agree on not bringing uninvited guests into the hotel and/or your room. You agree that the reservation is made in good faith for accommodation use for the person who made the booking and his/her invited guests. The room is not used for reselling, impermissibly assigning or posting on third-party websites, or making false or fraudulent reservations or any reservations in anticipation of demand.
Lastly, Hotel Frenchie only allows children older than 12 years old in the hotel. By making your booking, you agree that the reservation is made for individuals over 12 years old.
Rates & City Tax
The following payment methods are accepted at Hotel Frenchie: VISA, VISA Electron, V Pay credit, debit, business cards, MasterCard credit, cash.
At the time of check-in, we will authorise the accommodation charges (room rate, VAT and any service charge) and anticipated incidentals for the duration of your stay against your credit card. All outstanding charges must be paid for in full on check-out from the hotel. If staying for multiple nights at the hotel, we may require you to make a payment for any outstanding charges on a more frequent basis during your stay. Room authorization and room night charges are to be paid by credit card, which you need to be able to show upon check-in. Incidentals such as minibar items or breakfast items are allowed to be paid by credit and debit cards. Your credit card details will be stored as a security deposit only during your stay for any additional charges.
You agree on the room rate when you make your reservation and thus this will apply to your booking. Breakfast can be booked included, however additional food & beverage are not unless otherwise agreed upon. All the charges made are including service and VAT and must be paid in local currency (Euros). Prices are subject to change due to currency fluctuations without further notice. Room rates charges must be prepaid on non-refundable offers, all other charges must be paid during check out.
City Tax will apply. The city tax could change during the time between the booking and the stay in the hotel. Currently, the City Tax in Haarlem is €5 per person per night and is not included in the room rate.
No Shows and Alterations
Best Available Rate
Hotel Frenchie offers two types of rates: Best Available Rate (BAR) and non-refundable rates. Therefore, the policy for cancellations, no-shows and alterations differ per rate. The policy can be read in the following paragraphs.
The Best Available Rate bookings can be altered and/or cancelled conform the following:
When bookings are cancelled 48 hours prior to the check-in time of the reservation, no costs will be charged to the guest (including City Tax). A No-show or a cancellation that is done later than 24 hours in advance will be charged with one night rate (including City Tax).
Cancellations and alterations are only accepted in writing. For any unforeseen incidents, we advise you to take a travel and/or cancellation insurance at all times. When the situation requires refunds of prepaid charges, these are generally processed within 10 days after your cancel or alteration request.
When booking with a non-refundable rate you are not able to alter, neither to cancel a reservation and thus you will be 100% charged.
When booking with a non-refundable rate, Hotel Frenchie is allowed to take the payment from the moment of booking. Please be aware of the fact that you are obliged to show a credit card upon check-in.
When a booking is made through the use of a travel agency or an online travel agency (E.g. Booking.com), you must cancel or modify the booking through the agency that you used to make the booking.
Check-In Time/Check-Out Time and Requirements
In order to prevent fraud and assure safety and security, guests may be required to provide their identity, valid credit card and their booking reference. This information can be requested for all guests over the age of 16. Moreover, we reserve the right to refuse entry to guests who are not able to provide this information.
Check-in time is at 15:00 local time on the scheduled day of arrival, unless otherwise is stated on the booking. All secured bookings will be held until 23:59, on the scheduled day of arrival. All non-secured reservations will be held until 18:00 on the day of arrival, where after we reserve the right to resell the room unless the guest has notified the hotel regarding late arrival. On the day of departure, the check out time is 11:00, unless a later departure is stated in the booking. Late check-out can be requested upon availability and will be charged.
In case of earlier departure than the agreed departure date, we kindly ask you to inform the hotel before 14:00 the day prior to the departure. This will also prevent any late cancellation costs.
Unfortunately, the hotel is not accessible with a wheelchair. The hotel have stairs to the rooms and does not have an elevator.
Damage to our hotel and property
Lost and Found
Hotel Frenchie requests all guests to conduct themselves appropriately throughout their stay and to operate with respect for the property, staff and guests of the Hotel. Guests need to comply with the Company procedures and/or requests with regards to the health and safety measures. Guests are requested not to disturb the enjoyment and pleasure of other guests or cause any offence to other guests and staff members. Also, the smooth running of the Hotel may not be influenced by guests. We reserve the right to refuse service or accommodation or remove a guest and members of the guest’s party from the hotel if, in our opinion, we consider this provision to have been disobeyed.
When this is the case, the hotel has no obligation to refund the guest for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expenses that occurred. Moreover, as the hotel boasts multiple art pieces, it is expected to handle these with care. Therefore, when art pieces or furniture is damaged on purpose, the hotel reserves the right to charge the guest on his/her credit card.
All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the Hotel must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
Pets are welcomein any of the rooms or public spaces at the Hotel. But please discuss this while making your booking. There are extra charges of €25 for brining your pet friend.
Hotel Frenchie is a non-smoking hotel. It is not permitted to smoke in rooms or in any other of the public areas within the hotel. When smoking in the hotel occurs, management reserves the right to take appropriate measures such as fees and/or additional cleaning costs.
The hotel does not offer any parking spots. Parking spots are limited in the center, however, we can suggest parking spaces nearby, please inform before arrival.
Hotel Frenchie is not liable, in any way, for theft or loss of your belongings in the hotel or the rooms.
Hotel Frenchie reserves the right and by booking, you authorise us to charge your credit card for any damage incurred to your room or the hotel during your stay or for any items that are missing when you leave.
Throughout the whole building, you are able to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi services. All rooms boast an individual network and passwords are shown in the room’s welcome letter and booklet. Our wireless network is provided without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. We do not ensure that access to our wireless network will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free at all times. Hotel Frenchie is not responsible for the security, integrity, accuracy or completeness of any information that you transmit or receive while using our wireless network. Unlawful or prohibited purposes on our network are not permitted.
All items found in the hotel (rooms and public spaces) will be registered and stored for three months.
